How to Cancel a China Train Ticket
If you bought a Chinese train ticket but your plans changed or you made a mistake, you can cancel your China train ticket and get a refund.
If you booked a Chinese train ticket online through PandaTrips and your paper ticket hasn't been picked up, you can cancel your train ticket online up to three hours before the train's departure.
If you have already picked up your paper China train ticket, or within three hours of departure, you will need to go to any railway station in Mainland China to get a refund.Go to the refund window (退票窗口) at a Chinese railway station with your paper train ticket(s) and the ID you used for your booking.
How to Change a China Train Ticket
If you already have your paper China train ticket, go to any Mainland China railway station with the ID you used for your booking and go to the train ticket change window (改签窗口). No handling fee is charged the first time you change a China train ticket.
If your paper China train ticket has not been picked up, you can cancel your reservation( up to three hours before the train's departure), and make a new one online.
If you cancel a Chinese train ticket booking less than 15 days before departure, you will be charged a handling fee for the refunded train ticket. (See below for how handling fees are calculated).
If the new train ticket price is lower than the original train ticket price, you will be refunded the price difference. If the new train ticket price is higher than the original train ticket price, you will be charged the price difference.
Handling Fees to Refund Canceled China Train Tickets
PandaTrips follows the cancellation policies of China's national rail operator- China Railway.
No handling fee is charged if a China train ticket is canceled at least 15 days in advance of the train's departure date.
A 5% handling fee (minimum CNY 2) will be charged per train ticket for any cancellation made between 49 hours and 15 days before departure;
A 10% handling fee will be charged per train ticket for any cancellation made between 25 hours and 49 hours before departure; and a 20% handling fee will be charged per train ticket for cancellations made within 25 hours of departure.
A refund for canceled China train tickets will be given within 7 working days using the same method as your initial payment. The refund amount for canceled China train tickets is subject to China's railway authority. The refund payment date for canceled China train tickets is subject to your bank or credit card provider.
